The best 2025 summer project out of the 518 goes to, “Perfect is Boring.” Undebatable and undeniable. Eighty Gee packs the strongest punch into only seven tracks – here’s the kicker – two of them were intro/interludes. So how did Eighty Gee manage to drop the FRESHest EP that we’ve heard out of the Albany area? Read along and don’t blink or else you’ll miss the quick wits of Eighty Gee. .

PERFECT IS BORING COMMERCIAL◄
Eighty Gee originally signed to D Block [The Lox] when he was 19 years old. His life led him down a different path…
“So focused, I don’t even know when I’m down.”
Re-emergence upon the scene has been well-documented with several projects put out in recent years. Discovering this artist at this stage seems like a cheat code. Clearly, he put in pain to get to this point because these songs are culminations of such detailed historical moments in his journey.
Not one song had less than two verses throughout the EP, “Perfect is Boring.” This artist pieced together perfect combinations. Not one stone was left unturned. Recounted blends of soul, drill, gospel, club and funk. Altogether, these songs passed the ultimate litmus – the car test.
Eighty Gee brought the community together for a rally which we spoke with Steph London about in a recent interview.

Following this event, 80 & his Wussuppiee Ent. brought Fuego Base [Connecticut] to the Fuze Box which is under new ownership. Since Fuze Box was bought out by DJ TGIF many more lively events are being catered toward what people actually want to do at a function.
The involvement of Fuego Base who signed to Black Soprano Family heightens intrigue in the 518. Could Connecticut somehow loop in Capital Region and connect the state capital under the GRISELDA UMBRELLA ??? Whoever could assist in facilitating such a stunt? The question is rhetorical – the answer is us.

With artists like this popping up out of the 5 – it is only a matter of moments before people begin to take notice. Eighty Gee carries the type of charismatic lyricism and wherewithal to stand the tests of time.
“Sins are his dad’s, but pray for the sun
Eighty Gee
just give me a rib i’ll give you a lung
this ain’t for the weak just gimme a month”
The most monumental moments occur when something causes you to feel.
PiB makes you feel something regardless of whatever the case may be – your situation will turn more militantly intense after listening to this tape in the right environment.
To dissect it truly from limb to limb – picture the song, “Risk” as the single. Quite possibly the case, the theme of risk could be heard in songs featuring right hand man Peshy Kruger. Risk track garnered more support for potential single with studio freestyles and persistent promotion. By picturing that song as top of pyramid and songs Cup of Tea and Vent as the supporting rungs one can begin to see a masterpiece.
That moment when you hear something real and it takes you to a certain place is an irreplaceable experience for the listener. To have that type of output streaming from the same area by which we currently write, film, interview, study, research and teach is downright magnificent. This EP resonates heavily given the magnitude of the words.
Those who truly listen can hear the entendres, can feel the crazy switch ups per song. Some songs contain two songs in one and most of them contain intros and outros via fade-outs and cutaways.
Without losing any momentum at any point, “PERFECT IS BORING” earns high honor and fresh remarks. The wait is over – let the 518 be great and may the rain pour in Albany only to be covered by the Griselda Umbrella.
no surrender
