With a name like Kiwi Gadbaw it’s no wonder this man is doing extraordinarily fresh things! Clearly one who has put in his 10,000 hours – this illustrator draws from a wide variety of artistic sources. The handmade designs and drawings showcase his relentless nature to put forth a clean product and willingness to push the boundaries of traditional artistic landscapes.
People often train their eyes toward the bright, bouncy and colorful. Gadbaw – Industrial Designer with a degree from the University of Washington knows this very well. Much of the time, his creations stand out from the pack due to the details that cause a flash, pop or brightening of your day.
Kiwi is the man behind some of the cleanest clothing brands in the world. By clean we mean the product feels clean and looks clean. A clean look can be defined by ease of access and how little time it takes to be sold on a product. The thing about these designs is that a clean look might consist of multiple double takes!

In a historical sense – Gadbaw quite literally means writer, dramatist and organizer of rituals. It makes sense given the fact that he writes with a pen to design, creates dramatic effect to appeal to his audience and organizes a community based upon supply and demand. The ritual part comes into play when people from the community return to experience the clean product.
Who knows exactly how Kiwi conceives his creations? One must have a very refreshing take on modern day culture and an extremely adaptable and innovative approach. We can be certain that he enjoys sports as much of his work involves sports – including some serious heat for Upstate NY based brand Planet Euphoria.

Some other areas that spark the design process for Kiwi have to do with reminiscing on the past in areas like 90’s cartoons, nostalgia and Japanese culture. How wondrous it is to see somebody who receives influence from the past while pushing forth efficient modern day business practices.
Kiwi’s kindred spirit knows no limitations and it is clear that he enjoys reconceptualizing and flipping original logos into something different. The idea is that you recognize the design – you just can’t recall where you saw it before. By utilizing familiarity – he is able to flip a design into something that represents something completely different – all the while maintaining a positive connection.
Kiwi places his products within multiple spheres of athletic influence. Frequently within Chicago – he has worked with several professional organizations [Chicago Sky, Chicago Cubs] and even had his designs featured in NBA 2K22.
We thoroughly enjoy when individuals take time to put a refreshingly unique perspective on art. We appreciate when people study the craft, find what they like and then double down on their strengths.
