Colonie Swarms to the Swami with Defensive Conversions Against Mohon to Become 1-1

Throughout the years, football season became incredibly poignant in Upstate NY. The foliage of the leaves combined with the cool climate following the heat wave only reflects the most beautiful season of Footb[ALL] – this year the Raiders got some talent.

The best teams hit you from all angles and the Colonie Raiders do not lack talent or starpower whatsoever in 2023. From a brief witness of the most recent game #1 #7 and #4 all stood out in both the defensive and offensive backfields. With a consistent running game and defensive swarming to make tackles – these young athletes did not let the adverse officiating conditions affect their route of Mohonasen last weekend.

Re-Route on 1st Down

The South Colonie team showed resiliency through one of the first ‘do-over’ refereeing decisions. As the RB hauled in a swing pass and tip-toed down the sidelines the ref accidentally dropped his flag and blew the whistle in a panic as player headed toward endzone. Flag picked up and after a ten minute discussion – refs called the play a mulligan and ran it over again.

Regardless, the Colonie Raiders managed to fly to the ball early and often. With tenacity, the band of brothers increasingly grew more energetic as the game went on. Toward the end of the fourth quarter, Colonie defensive back laid a big hit on the home sidelines and you could feel the deflation within that energy. Onward Colonie.

Much to be proven as to much who is given much is earned. Continual consistency and maintaining assignments will carry football teams to the promised land. Defense wins championships and Colonie aims to put forth great effort in all three phases of the game. Catch them in action on 09/14 @7 P.M. at Ambrosio Field against the Guilderland Flying Dutchmen.
