Recently, Soundcloud has been dealing with hardship. Due to cost-efficiency, Soundcloud was forced to lay off 40% of its workforce. Allegedly, there are only a few months left to financially ensure usage of the platform.
Thankfully, Chance the Rapper is working on a plan to keep Soundcloud around.

Chance won the Grammy award for Best New Artist solely from streaming content made available for free. Soundcloud has aided the rise of artists like A-Boogie, Lil Uzi Vert, Khalid and Chance the Rapper.
